Fall is one of the best times of year to get outside and enjoy everything North Texas has to offer. While DFW may not always give us cool temperatures and colorful fall foliage, there is no shortage of pumpkins, hayrides, corn mazes, farm animals, fall festivals, and picture perfect autumn displays.

Whether you're looking for a traditional pumpkin farm, a place to take family photos, or a full day of fall activities, there are plenty of great pumpkin patches throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Here are some of the top pumpkin patches and fall destinations to check out in DFW this year.

If you're looking for one of the most impressive fall displays in the Dallas area, Autumn at the Arboretum is hard to beat.

Running September 19 through November 1, 2026, the annual event transforms the Dallas Arboretum into a massive fall celebration featuring more than 100,000 pumpkins, gourds, and squash.

The centerpiece is the famous Pumpkin Village, which features elaborate pumpkin houses and displays. The 2026 theme, “Harvest Hues” draws inspiration from modern and contemporary artists.

It's an especially great destination for family photos, couples, and anyone who wants to enjoy a beautiful fall setting without visiting a traditional farm.

The Arboretum also hosts special events throughout the season, including Pumpkins and Pints on select Friday evenings.

Best for: Fall photos, couples, families, and beautiful pumpkin displays.

3420 Hall Johnson Road, Grapevine, TX 76051

For a more traditional pumpkin-patch experience, Hall's Pumpkin Farm in Grapevine is a longtime DFW favorite.

Hall's combines pumpkins with classic fall activities, including a large corn maze, hayrides, farm animals, concessions, and plenty of opportunities for fall photos.

The 2026 season is scheduled for October 2 through November 1, making October a great time to plan a visit.

One of the attractions that makes Hall's stand out is its corn maze. During certain evenings, visitors can even experience the maze after dark.

Because it's located in Grapevine, Hall's is also convenient for families coming from Dallas, Irving, Coppell, Southlake, Colleyville, and other surrounding cities.

Best for: A classic pumpkin farm, corn mazes, hayrides, and families.

1232 E. Fork Drive, Rockwall, TX 75087

Located east of Dallas, Blase Family Farm offers a more traditional family farm atmosphere.

During the fall season, visitors can enjoy pumpkins, farm animals, hayrides, a hay maze, a wooded story trail, and fall themed photo opportunities.

The farm's wooded setting gives it a different feel from some of the larger pumpkin attractions around DFW.

Blase Family Farm is particularly convenient for families in Rockwall, Garland, Rowlett, Sachse, Wylie, and eastern Dallas County.

Best for: Families with younger children and a relaxed farm experience.

1004 W. Bethesda Road, Cleburne, TX 76031

If your family wants an entire day of fall entertainment instead of simply picking out a pumpkin, Mainstay Farm is worth the drive.

Mainstay's Pumpkin Fall Days turn the farm into a large fall attraction with pumpkins, hayrides, photo opportunities, children's activities, rides, food, and plenty of seasonal attractions.

The 2026 Pumpkin Fall Days season is scheduled to run from September 20 through November 7.

Because there is so much to do, Mainstay can easily become a half day or full day outing.

Best for: Families looking for lots of activities and a full fall day experience.

15102 TX-289, Gunter, TX 75058

For families in North Dallas, Collin County, and the communities north of Plano, Gunter is home to The Big Orange Pumpkin Farm at Preston Trail Farms.

The attraction provides a traditional pumpkin picking experience along with additional farm activities and fall photo opportunities.

Its location along Preston Road makes it particularly convenient for families coming from areas such as Prosper, Celina, McKinney, Frisco, and surrounding communities.

It's a great option if you're looking for a pumpkin farm without heading all the way across the Metroplex.

Best for: North Dallas families and a traditional farm experience.

1926 Milam Road E., Sanger, TX 76266

Another great option north of Dallas is Cobbins Family Pumpkin Patch in Sanger.

Cobbins combines pumpkin picking with activities for children, including a hay maze, bounce houses, playground areas, toddler activities, and lawn games.

The 2026 season is scheduled for September 26 through October 31.

For families in Denton, Aubrey, Sanger, Krum, and northern Denton County, Cobbins can be a convenient alternative to driving farther into Dallas.

Best for: Families with young children and North Texas residents looking for a combination of pumpkins and activities.

NorthPark Center, 8687 N. Central Expressway, Dallas, TX 75225

Not every pumpkin patch has to be a full day trip.

The NorthPark Pumpkin Patch is a convenient option for Dallas families who want a seasonal fall experience without spending hours driving to a farm.

The 2026 pumpkin patch is scheduled for October 1 through November 1 and features pumpkins, fall displays, photo opportunities, storytimes, and family friendly activities.

It's also a convenient option for people in North Dallas, Richardson, Addison, and Plano.

Best for: A quick family outing, photos, and an easy to reach Dallas location.

390 Oates Creek Road, Aurora, TX 76078

Located northwest of Fort Worth, Ruby Creek Family Farm offers a kid focused fall experience with plenty to keep younger visitors entertained.

Activities can include a pumpkin patch, farm animals, a barrel train, giant jump pad, playground areas, and fall photo opportunities.

The farm's rural setting also provides a nice change of scenery from the more urban pumpkin patches around Dallas.

Best for: Families with kids who want pumpkins plus plenty of activities.

3101 Coit Road, Plano, TX 75075

For Plano residents who don't want to make a long drive, Pumpkin Patch on the Corner is an easy local option.

This community pumpkin patch is located at Christ United Methodist Church on Coit Road. It's more of a traditional community pumpkin sale and photo opportunity than a large farm attraction.

That can actually be a benefit if you're simply looking for a pumpkin, a few fall pictures, and a short seasonal outing.

It's particularly convenient for families in Plano, Allen, Richardson, and surrounding North Dallas neighborhoods.

Best for: A quick and convenient local pumpkin stop.

4405 Main Street, Rowlett, TX 75089

Another community focused option is Pumpkin Patch on Main in Rowlett.

In addition to pumpkins and fall decorations, the attraction has featured a sorghum maze and other family friendly activities.

It's a good choice for families on the east side of the Metroplex who don't want to drive across Dallas for their fall outing.

Best for: East Dallas families and a smaller community fall experience.
